Assistive listening devices/MicroLink |
There are different kinds of accessories and assistive listening devices that can assist your hearing aid in difficult listening situations.
We have chosen to concentrate on one single system: MicroLink by Widex
MicroLink – the world’s smallest and most sophisticated FM system for hearing aids |
MicroLink ensures you benefits in difficult listening situations that will often be even better than those of people with normal hearing:

it allows you to focus on exactly the sound source you wish to hear

it reduces disturbing background noise
At school, at work, at home or in your spare time - with MicroLink you can concentrate on listening rather than on struggling to make out the words.
A flexible and cordless system |
The MicroLink system works in the following way; place a transmitter (HandyMic, TelCom or Campus) near the sound source (e.g. the person speaking) or connect it directly to the television or similar equipment. It then transmits the sound signal to the MicroLink receiver, which is attached directly to the hearing aid. The system has an operating range of up to 15 metres. With the MicroLink system, the negative effects of noise, reverberation and distance from the sound source are avoided.
The MicroLink system leaves you completely free of annoying cords, and eliminates the need for installing a loop system at home.

At workThe MicroLink system is designed to improve communication in difficult listening situations in order to avoid misunderstandings. Place the HandyMic close to the person speaking, on the conference table or attached to the instructor’s shirt pocket, and you will receive speech as clearly and distinctly as if you were standing right next to the source. |

At schoolIrrespective of age and occupation, our well-being and success – both professionally and educationally – are highly dependent on our interaction with other people. In teaching environments, during lectures and seminars, and at business meetings it is important that we understand what is being said - despite distance and noise. Here, the HandyMic and Campus transmitters can be useful. |
 |
At homeAny of the three transmitters can be connected to the TV or radio, so that the family can enjoy TV and radio programmes at normal volume. |
 |
In your spare timeIf you play sports, are an amateur actor or engage in other activities that compel you to listen from a distance, you can give the HandyMic to the coach or the director. This way, comments or directions are transmitted directly to your hearing aid and you will not experience problems with distance or background shouting. | |
